Pick n Melt Hand poured Natural Soy Wax Tealights are the perfect alternative to high street paraffin tealights. Our vegan soy tealights burn 100% toxin free. The quality is second to none. This is due to our custom secret soy blend and choice of braided cotton, soy coated wick. We have an entire section of our workshop dedicated to making them.
You can pick from 4 different size of natural soy wax tealights and various package sizes. Our small, quirky, socially distanced team hand pour all our products at our workshop in Gosport. We use 100% pure none GMO soy wax and a sterilised, braided cotton wick to make the tealights. Pick n Melt tealight cups are all made from recycled materials. You can also recycle both our aluminium and poly tealight cups by popping them into your recycling bin after use.
Why use soy wax?
Soy wax is a common, sustainable vegetable wax made from the oil of soy beans. Soy has many uses in various industries but most commonly relating to vegetarian and vegan diets as an alternative source of dietary protein. To make soy wax the soy beans are harvested and then cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
There are various reasons we use soy wax for our main candle wax. Some ethical and some practical.
1. Soy beans are a naturally renewable source and are Eco-friendly.
2. Soy wax burns for longer with a cooler burning temperature.
3. Soy wax is non-toxic due to the nature of it’s extraction and thus produces no toxins when it burns.
Burn times are as follows.
Standard Aluminium (38 x 13mm)- 4-5 hours
Standard Clear Cup (38 x 18mm)- 5-6 hours
Large Aluminium/Clear Cup (38 x 24mm)- 6-8 hours
Aluminium Maxi (58 x 20mm)- 11-13 hours

Safety Information
PLEASE READ THE SAFTEY AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH YOUR TEALIGHTS, IN FULL, BEFORE LIGHTING YOUR SOY OR COCONUT WAX TEALIGHT CANDLES.
1. NEVER leave a candle burning unattended. And please keep out the reach of children and pets when lit. Candles are very dangerous.
2. Burn your candle on a plate or in a proper candle holder, not on any surface that could burn or be marked.
3. Ensure your candle is not positioned near any drafts or winds and equally that the space can draw oxygen efficiently otherwise the flame may suffocate.
4. When your candle is burning, make sure to keep your wick centred. If you do not have a dedicated wick centring tool you can improvise using old cutlery.
5. Do not blow out your candle to extinguish it. This is dangerous and could splash hot wax onto your face. Snuff your candle out with a candle snuffer. Restricting oxygen to the flame will extinguish it effortlessly and stop the wick from smouldering. It is the wick smouldering that causes the smoke you see and smell when you blow out a candle.
6. Ensure there is no debris in the candle before lighting.
7. Burn your candle for at least 2 hours the first time you light it. The wax has a “burn memory”. It will ensure an even burn.
